Every time I visit the Oakland Pet Adoption Center there are several kennels with pit bulls, usually bearing nasty scars or fresh injuries from fighting. It breaks my heart to think of the suffering this breed in particular endures. These sweet pups, however, were saved from that sort of life, and adopted to loving and compassionate homes.
