I never met Ginger because she had already passed away before I did the painting but I understand she was a happy, intelligent and loving dog. When I was commissioned to do this painting the owner wanted to surprise his wife with a portrait of Ginger. This was a complete surprise for her. Ginger had been a lifelong companion and as she said" losing Ginger was like losing on of her children". I was pleased that I could capture her so well that the owner was in tears when she called to thank me for the portrait. It is these moments that make us realized how blessed we are to be able to make people happy with our talent.
