When an owner loses a pet, I feel so connected to the lost love and memory they have. I do commissions like this all the time, taking (usually) bad photographs of the pet and then working a bit of magic to make a memory come alive. This dog lived and died in Vermont, and was very loved by his owners. It wasn't too difficult to get a good likeness, and then place him in his favorite spot by their vacation cabin--without the cabin being another focal point. I love bringing this kind of joy to the sadness of losing a pet.
